NEW YORK (Atlantic Records) - Hard-Fi have become the surprise pop commotion of the summer in their native England, just as their debut EP hits the shelves here in America. CASH MACHINE arrives this week in stores nationwide.

CASH MACHINE serves as an ideal introduction to a band hailed by NME for their 'tirelessly inventive, genre-splicing genius.' Songs such as 'Cash Machine' and the infectious 'Tied Up Too Tight' see the Staines-based outfit ingeniously melding urban rhythms with indelible rock 'n' roll hooks, all underscoring frontman Richard Archer's frank and gritty tales of dead-end jobs, lost weekends, and disenfranchised suburban angst. In addition, the four-track EP is highlighted by a dubbed-up cover of the White Stripes' 'Seven Nation Army.'

Hard-Fi will celebrate the release of 'CASH MACHINE' with their first full-scale North American tour, kicking off July 18th at Allston, MA's Great Scott. The trek includes dates alongside such bands as the Bravery, the Dead 60's, Nine Black Alps, and the Cribs, as well as performances at the upcoming Lollapalooza extravaganza in Chicago and the renowned San Diego Street Scene festival (see attached itinerary).

STARS OF CCTV, Hard-Fi's full-length debut album, was just released in England to unprecedented critical acclaim and massive commercial success. The album has received across-the-board enthusiasm from the notoriously hard-to-please UK critical establishment.
'STARS OF CCTV' received a 9-out-of-10 rave in NME who have already labeled it 'the album of the year' while the UK's biggest music magazine Q dubbed Hard-Fi 'the next major British band.' Meanwhile The Times' Paul Connolly wrote, 'Good heavens, 2005 just gets better. There have been some terrific debut albums by British bands this year but this rough diamond by Staines' Hard-Fi is the best yet. As close to a five star record as I've heard all year.'
