New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Alt-pop singer-songwriter Lisa Remar today releases her second single, "Ride", from her EP Still Good which is due out in January 2021.
The song exclusively premiered with American Songwriter yesterday who lauded the song saying, "Remar's vocals are soulful and luminous as they skate over atmospheric instrumentation."

The vibey and ambient single was inspired by an "unpleasant and traumatic experience," Lisa told American Songwriter. Her soothing and gentle vocals soar over a string filled electronica track resulting in a song sure to pull at the heartstrings.

"Ride" follows the release of "Halfway To Nowhere", which caught the attention of Earmilk who praised the track as a "poignant self-care anthem", and Culture Collide who called it "beautiful and nostalgic." The track currently sits comfortably at over 83K streams on Spotify. It also got attention from SHAZAM, who placed it on the official "The Best New Music" Apple Music playlist.

Lisa Remar is a singer-songwriter, and piano player raised in New York with years spent in Tokyo and Los Angeles. Her multi-cultural background (she is half-Japanese and fluent),
her instinctive and passionate attraction to the arts: singing, songwriting, producing and acting shows itself in her inspiring and poetic musical expression. Her sound is characterized by her soulful vocals and her unique sonic sensibility. Lisa's psychedelic soundscape threads through most of her tracks and revels in tinges of melancholia, sentimentality and emotional vulnerability.

Feelings wash over us like waves. Ebbing and flowing back and forth, they either consume us or keep us afloat. Lisa Remar responds to emotions intensely. She faces them head-on and diverts the undertow into alternative pop highlighted by her own immersive production and gentle, yet nuanced vocal delivery. Acclaimed by Earmilk and many more, the New York-born and Los Angeles-based Japanese-American singer, songwriter, and producer immediately enchants on her independent debut EP, Still Good.

She fell in love with the art of composition as a child in New York City. In between everything from tennis to gymnastics, she took piano lessons with a teacher who emphasized composing just as much as performing. In order to combat severe social anxiety, she retreated into music at a young age. She admittedly "watched Selena 8,000 times" and listened to everyone from "her first celebrity crush" Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Alicia Keys to Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

"I was born here, but my first language is actually Japanese and I didn't even learn English until second grade," she says. "I had trouble making friends. Since I was alone a lot, I would watch movies and listen to a ton of records. In social interactions, I would act like different characters, because I wanted people to like me. I learned all of the songs on J. Lo's first album, and I was obsessed with Karen O."

Following her graduation from CalArts, she moved to Japan in order to sign a record deal with her college band. After a few months, the prospects fizzled. She bounced back to New York before settling in Los Angeles. During 2016, she released "Let 'Em Heal" under the moniker of Nana Felix and received acclaim from the likes of Vice and The Fader. She recorded with various producers before making a pivotal decision.

Lisa introduced Still Good in 2020 with "Halfway To Nowhere." Right out of the gate, Earmilk promised, "Remar's picturesque melodies can easily take listeners away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Already, she's made a promising start for the rest of her music career." On its heels, the single "Fell Into" paired piano, subtle guitar, and glitchy flourishes with her fluttering register.
