Elijah Wolf Releases New Album Brighter Lighting
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Brooklyn-based artist Elijah Wolf released his sophomore album Brighter Lighting via Trash Casual Records. Recorded with acclaimed producer Sam Cohen (Kevin Morby, Andrew Combs, Sharon Van Etten) and an all-star band including Wilco guitarist Nels Cline, drummer Joshua Jaeger (Angel Olsen, Lionlimb), and multi-instrumentalist Photay, Brighter Lighting marks the start of an adventurous new chapter for Wolf, who moves beyond the sparse and isolated bedroom folk of his earlier work in favor of a more collaborative, immersive sound. The texture-rich LP is an observation of joy in the presence of darkness; meditating on loss, hope and nostalgia.
"After making a very solo record, almost completely alone, I wanted to build a musical community to share in the creative process," explains Wolf. "Brighter Lighting is a record about taking a moment to look out and observe the things around you that we miss in our daily lives. It's a record about deep reflection of the past and being still in a life that moves fast."

The album's first single "Like This, Anymore" was released in August, with Paste deeming it, "the perfect summery tune to just sit back and take it all in." Other singles have received praise from Forbes, Allston Pudding, Glide Magazine and EARMILK, who described Wolf's songs as "soft-spoken and tender, with rural tones coming from the heart." He's been featured on playlists including NPR Music's New Music Friday, Spotify's Folk Arc and Apple Music's Wax Eclectic. Last month, Wolf sat down with Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold, on the Talkhouse Podcast to discuss their writing process. He also performed a Rough Trade Transmission on Rough Trade's IGTV.

In celebration of Brighter Lighting, Wolf will perform the album in its entirety with Sam Cohen and Photay in a livestream performance via NoonChorus on March 10.
