FRANKFURT, Germany (Napster PR) - Napster, the biggest brand in digital music, has appointed Bettina Maul as marketing director for its German operation. Based at the company's German headquarters in Frankfurt, Maul will be responsible for all aspects of Napster's marketing strategy and reports directly to Napster VP & Germany general manager, Thorsten Schliesche. Key requirements of the marketing director role include establishing a clear company and product positioning for Napster in Germany, building and retaining a strong subscriber base and working closely with the business development function at Napster Germany to drive commercial partnerships.

Bettina Maul will also be responsible for selecting and managing the activities of Napster's advertising and media buying agencies. She joins the company from world-leading advertising, marketing and communications network Young & Rubicam.

"Bettina's agency experience and proven success in marketing big name brands make her an extremely valuable addition to the Napster team," said Thorsten Schliesche. "As well as running both national and international campaigns for her clients, Bettina has specialised in high profile product launches which will prove invaluable in helping bring Napster.de to German music fans."

As a senior account manager at Young & Rubicam in Frankfurt, Maul was responsible for product positioning, strategic development and putting in place creative brand campaigns involving such household names as NEXT for Philip Morris GmbH, and Dany Sahne for Danone GmbH, which saw a 48% increase in sales following a television advertising-driven relaunch. Bettina Maul has a BA in business economics, specialising in marketing and communications, from Ravensburg University of Co-operative Education.
