NASHVILLE, TN. (Copperfield Records) - Copperfield Records has signed exclusive and modern distribution agreements to release classic music recorded by the Chuck Wagon Gang. The digitally re-mastered recordings are originals derived from the seventeen-album catalog recorded on the Copperfield Records label during the 1980's. The collection features some of the best-loved gospel standards 'Amazing Grace,' 'How Great Thou Art,' 'I'll Fly Away,' and 'Rock of Ages' and many others.
November 25, 2006, celebrates the 70th Anniversary of the original group's first recording session in a San Antonio hotel room, beginning the legacy of the country gospel group. The Gang began their career performing a daily 15-minute segment on KFYO Radio in Lubbock, TX before moving on to WBAP Radio in Dallas, TX. The Gang also performed on KVOO in Tulsa, OK. To commemorate the anniversary celebration, the re-mastered project will be distributed by three primary companies: Select-O-Hits (will act as distributor for secular retail); New Day Christian (will coordinate distribution to Christian retail outlets); and Sony/RED (responsible for online digital distribution-making this the first time this product has been available for online digital sales). Nine of the seventeen albums are currently available at retail outlets with all of the titles available for download purchase including individual tracks. Other titles will continue to be released periodically until all titles are available through retail outlets.
'This catalog represents some of the finest sound recordings in Chuck Wagon Gang history,' says Ken Biddy, President/CEO, Copperfield Records. 'We are especially excited to make available the two previously unreleased Christmas CD's-just in time for the 2005 Holiday Season.'
Additional gospel titles will be released with plans for a special commemorative CD celebrating '70 Years Of American Music' scheduled for release in the fall of 2006. The commemorative package will include 3-4 previously unreleased tracks as an extra bonus for fans and collectors.
The Chuck Wagon Gang earned five TNN/Music City News Awards for Country Gospel Group of The Year, DJ Gospel Group Of The Year, SESAC Lifetime Achievement Award, and induction into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
A comprehensive media and marketing plan is currently being developed to support the commemorative 2006 release. Copperfield Music is also a music publishing company representing multiple genres of music including country, contemporary Christian, pop, and urban.
