Natalie Imbruglia all scored noms. Announced today in Sydney, the final five nominees across 28 categories for the 2005 ARIA Awards reflect the remarkable diversity of Australian music talent and feature multiple nominations by a collection of exciting, breakthrough artists.
SONY BMG Music Australia artists proved themselves a force to be reckoned with in the class of 2005, with Anthony Callea (the powerhouse behind Oz's fastest and highest selling single ever, 'The Prayer'), Casey Donovan, Guy Sebastian and Delta Goodrem dominating the Highest Selling Album and Single categories.
Former ARIA Award winners Rogue Traders also made their mark this year on fans and peers alike, receiving noms for Best Dance Release, Best Video and Engineer Of The Year for their titan single and chart-smash 'Voodoo Child', while Infusion make damn fine company for them in the Best Dance Release category for their wicked album 'Six Feet Above Yesterday'.
Songstress Natalie Imbruglia will be counting down the days until she goes up against the brightest stars in the country for the Best Female Award, while John Farnham and Tom Jones' hugely popular 'Together In Concert' is in the running to take out Best Contemporary Album and Hi-5 continue their ARIA blazing streak with a nod for Best Children's Album.
The 2005 ARIA Awards will be held on Sunday October 23rd at the Sydney SuperDome and will be broadcast on Network Ten from 7.30pm. General public tickets are on sale next Monday September 19th from Ticketek. Be there or be square!
