NEW YORK, NY (Hands on PR) - When TIME Magazine calls you "An exceptionally accomplished all-around musician," and adds, "Dave Eggar's life in music seems an unending crescendo" - and the New York Times chimes in with a review that reads, "Eggar's work is breathtaking ... a deliverance from the sedate formality of the typical cello recital" - how does a young artist respond?

Dave is a graduate of Harvard University and the Julliard School's Doctoral Program. His list of awards and accomplishments include accolades from TIME Magazine, ASCAP, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Geraldine Dodge Foundation and the Leonard Bernstein Foundation for his work in contemporary music. In 1997, he was awarded SONY Records' "Elevated Standards" prize for his accomplishments in the field of classical music.

Eggar's wish is to take the voice of the cello on a journey farther than just the confines of classical crossover in an effort to create an adult contemporary alternative to Yo-Yo Ma. Eggar adds, "I wanted the record to be a tribute to my classical roots - but also reflect the influences of the many artists I have played with both inside and outside the classical domain."

A virtuoso of many styles, Dave has performed and recorded with artists in numerous genres, including The Who, Michael Brecker, Josh Groban, Dave Sanborn and Ornette Coleman. As a founding member of the FLUX Quartet (https://www.fluxquartet.com/), Eggar has premiered works by Charles Ives, John Cage, Conlon Nanacarow and Frank Zappa. Now with his new "Left of Blue," like previous releases with his long-time label Domo Records, Eggar wants the listener to be taken on a deep emotional journey through places both light and dark. His overall goal is to create a record that could successfully interphase with the multiple aspects and genres Eggar experiences throughout his live performance career.

Dave Eggar's "Left of Blue" is the perfect example of an artist willing to record a quality project that will take his core audience places his new audience will surely enjoy.
