grandson Announces 2022 "Death Of A Tour" Headlining North American Tour
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, platinum-selling & "breakout rocker" (Variety) grandson announces his 2022 headlining North American tour, "DEATH OF A TOUR." The artist who's known for his "polemical songwriting" (Interview Magazine), will begin the 20+ run of shows at Los Angeles' iconic El Rey Theatre and sees him traverse both coasts playing major cities like Chicago, Seattle, Houston, Philadelphia and more. With support from LA-based rock star Royal & The Serpent, this highly anticipated headlining tour solidifies grandson as one of the most prolific voices in alternative music.
"One year later, in between arena tours with Imagine Dragons and Avril Lavigne, we stole some time to give a small number of fans the full experience of my debut album DEATH OF AN OPTIMIST," grandson says. "Some of these songs will never be played again; I just knew this era wouldn't be complete without some small sweaty club shows. Bringing my little sis Royal along for the ride. After that, it's album 2 time!!"
Tickets go on sale on Friday, December 17th at 10 am local time and see below for grandson's full run of headlining dates.

In addition to the headlining dates, grandson will support Imagine Dragons on their Arena tour of North America and pop-punk royalty Avril Lavigne's run across Canada with MOD SUN as well, making an epic hometown return to his country of origin. See below for all supporting tour dates.

This year has seen grandson perform at a number of major festivals (Rolling Stone said his Lollapalooza performance was "exuberant") and multiple ground-breaking collaborations. grandson wrote the exclusive single from the James Gunn-directed superhero film 'The Suicide Squad," "Rain" with Jessie Reyez and joined forces with Chicago rapper Vic Mensa and Australian rapper Masked Wolf for "Oh No!!!" (From The Suicide Squad)," which was included in the movie's end title sequence.

Additionally, grandson tapped Travis Barker and pop superstar Kesha for "Drop Dead" and performed "Hold the Line" alongside friend, mentor, and fellow advocate Tom Morello on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

grandson is the pseudonym of Canadian/American alternative artist Jordan Benjamin. He takes elements of his rock and roll, hip hop, and electronic music roots and combines them to tell stories of reclaiming power over one's life, confronting social issues facing his generation, and opening up about struggles with addiction and mental health. Since releasing his Modern Tragedy EP series, grandson has toured extensively across North America, Russia, and Europe, accumulated hundreds of millions of streams online, and received co-signs from the biggest names in rock and roll and progressive politics, from Tom Morello to Bernie Sanders. grandson's debut album, 'Death Of An Optimist,' conflates personal anxieties with political realities. As the protagonist, grandson simultaneously explores the dark underbelly of his unrelenting optimism for change, by creating an antagonist, X. The record delivers a subtle A-side/B-side structure totaling twelve tracks that follow grandson and X's dueling world views. grandson has collaborated with icons and heavy hitters in the music industry. Just this year, the platinum-selling alt-rocker collaborated with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, Jessie Reyez for "Rain," the exclusive single from the James Gunn-directed superhero film 'The Suicide Squad," and for the end title sequence of the film, grandson joined forces with Chicago rapper Vic Mensa and Australian rapper Masked Wolf for "Oh No!!!" (From The Suicide Squad)." Additionally, grandson tapped Travis Barker and pop superstar Kesha for "Drop Dead" and performed "Hold the Line" alongside friend, mentor, and fellow advocate Tom Morello on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
