Travis are going on tour this November in select US cities, with tickets and VIP packages on sale now via the band's website at travisonline.com. The tour kicks off on Nov. 4 in San Francisco at The Fillmore and visits Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City and Washington DC. The select string of performances are set to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their worldwide chart-topping album 'The Invisible Band' with a special deluxe box set reissue out now on Craft Recordings.
Last year,
Travis were forced to cancel their extensive US tour dates due to an unexpected hand injury incurred when frontman Fran Healy rescued a dog caught in a multi-car accident outside of his home (more details at Rolling Stone). Following Fran's recovery, the band are excited to return to the US to perform in select major cities.
On getting to revisit the album with a tour, Healy remarked "To support the re-issue of The Invisible Band on vinyl is exciting to bring it all back home... well, home to where the album was recorded, to the US. It's been such a long time since we toured America. We cannot wait to get out there and play the album live."
The Invisible Band is an iconic album from Travis, one that inspired the careers of
Keane and Coldplay, along with many others, while charting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and holding rank on the Billboard 200 Chart for seven weeks in the US. After only one year of the album's release, it was certified 4x platinum, marking
Travis as one of the most influential bands of the era.
In support of the deluxe reissue,
Travis appeared on The
Kelly Clarkson Show, performing their major hit single "Sing" from inside the historic Saint Luke's Church in Glasgow. The band also made a special appearance on The Late Late Show with
James Corden, performing the fan-favorite "Side."
The deluxe reissue of The Invisible Band is out now, featuring the original album remastered by GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Emily Lazar, as well as original B-sides, previously unreleased demos, live sessions and alternate takes.
A special limited-edition 20th Anniversary box set features the material across two CDs and two 180-gram heavyweight, ultra-clear vinyl LPs, cut at London's Air Studios. The set includes an extensive book with unseen session photography, handwritten lyrics and essays from the band plus contributions from the original producer Nigel Godrich. The expanded album is also available as a 2-CD set or to stream/download on all digital platforms.
The remastered original album is also available on standard black vinyl for the first time on the format since its original release. A limited green vinyl pressing is available via independent record stores.

Formed in Glasgow in 1990,

Travis took to Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage in 1999, delivering a career-defining performance, they were poised to become household names, opening the door for a new generation of introspective songwriters to come through.
Entering the new millennium as one of the biggest bands in the UK following the success of sophomore album, 1999's The Man Who (now certified 9x platinum, with over 2.7 million albums sold in the UK),
Travis spent the remainder of the '00s developing their sound without ever forgetting their core commitment to songwriting. The Invisible Band (2001) consolidated the group's status as the grown-ups' indie rock band of choice, while 2003's 12 Memories revealed a newfound electronica influence. 2007's The Boy With No Name was the band's most eclectic album to date, and, in the years since, the group have only continued to build on their enduring appeal. 2008's Ode to J Smith included the fan-favorite single 'Something Anything', while Where You Stand (2013) and
Everything At Once (2016) returned
Travis to the UK Top 5.
