New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Christina Novelli's not been hanging around in 2023. After the x
Paul Oakenfold x Nat Monday team-up, 'Say You're Mine', and 'Fall Through The Earth' - her latest with Richard Durand, she's ready to go again in March. Three months, three striking singles, but it may be the promise of what's still to come that'll put bigger-yet smiles on fans' faces.
'Heavy' has a different profile to her other '23 singles. It's a solo
Christina affair, but it's also the first release in a major new EP series, which the singer, spinner & songwriter has in development. Suffice to say, there's going to be no shortage of material from the House of Novelli in 2023!
It's the universal truth that love can be heavy. Reflectively, Christina's latest isn't about to pull any emotional punches in the pursuit of authenticity. It does however flip the traditional 'if you love something, set it free' viewpoint - switching it from liberator … to liberated.
While its song narrates its story up to a point, it's Christina's delivery, and the track's surrounding production that suggest the tale's outcome. Her empathetic voice brings warmth and equilibrium to 'Heavy's situation, while the drive of its backing track, crossed with the uplift of its pads & synths speak their own volumes.
'Heavy' by name, 'balanced' by its sonic nature, the first single to come from
