LONDON (Top40 Charts) - Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman have shot straight to the top of the UK charts with their cover of the Sinatra hit "Somethin' Stupid." The duo knocked dance music newcomer Daniel Bedingfield off the number one spot that he had dominated for two weeks, according to the Official UK Charts Company. Bedingfield's " Gotta Get Thru This" settled for number two Sunday, with Sophie Ellis Bextor's "Murder of the Dancefloor" hot on its heels at number three. The success of " Somethin' Stupid" gave Williams a double number one with his album " Swing When You're Winning" also topping the album charts for a fourth consecutive week. With just 10 days to go until the Christmas chart is announced, the big question is whether the pair can hang on to the top spot. Bookies William Hill said Saturday it was the closest Christmas chart race ever seen, with contenders including little-known club singer Gordon Haskell, the Tweenies and Cliff Richard. The Sterephonics held on to the number four slot in the singles chart Sunday with "Handbags and Gladrags." Ian Van Dahl and Samantha Mumba had new entries at number five and six respectively, followed by S Club 7's charity single "Have You Ever," still in the top 10 after four weeks on release. Other new entries included Janet Jackson, featuring Carly Simon, with "Son of a Gun (I Betcha Think This Song)," at number 13 and Emma Bunton's "We're Not Gonna Sleep Tonight" at number 20.
