NEW ORLEANS and SACRAMENTO, (Tower Records) - Tower Records, America's leading independent music and movie retailer, today announced that its French Quarter store will re-open for business as of Friday, November 25, 2005.

Located just off the banks of the Mississippi in a 19th century building on N. Peters Street in the French Quarter, Tower Records has embraced the rich musical heritage of New Orleans, and provided locals and visitors with the widest selection of music and movies since 1987.

"Nearly three months since Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, Tower Records is thrilled to bring music and spirit back to the city that we so love," stated Kevin Cassidy, Executive Vice President of Retail for Tower Records. "The people of New Orleans, our customers and employees alike, have been through so much. Their perseverance and dedication to re-build is a great inspiration to us all. It therefore gives Tower Records great satisfaction to re-open our French Quarter store."

Famous for its "Louisiana Room," which gives a Cajun-inspired tribute to New Orleans Jazz and Blues, the Tower Records New Orleans store is also known for its two floors of music CDs that showcase everything from Pop to Classical and Jazz music, as well as a DVD section that is bursting at the seams with the largest selection of DVD rentals in The Big Easy. Tower New Orleans was voted "Best Place to Buy a CD" and "Best CD Store to Find Music by Local Artists" in the Gambit Weekly 2005 Best of New Orleans Reader Poll.
