(Selectric Records)-Selectric Records' newest signing, Ohio-based band Cross Culture, brings its unique brand of rock-funk to music audiences everywhere in 2006. The threesome's inaugural album, Proof Positive, will make its debut nationwide Feb. 7.

Formed in 1998 by school friends Justin David (lead vocals, guitar) and Chris Wright (backing vocals, drums), Cross Culture, then known as Color, relied on the diverse cultural backgrounds of its seven-member group to shape a sound that combined Latin, rock, R&B, hip-hop and ska. Today, Cross Culture's three members: Justin, Chris, and guitarist, Dan Harris, still have a knack for style-mixing. Proof Positive is eclectic and energetic, fusing the band's repertoire of genres for an 11-track album that is nothing less than indescribable.

Selectric Records label chief David Bach comments, 'Cross Culture brings a diverse stylistic blend unlike any other band in the market right now. Their level of musicianship is unparalleled. They have a deep understanding of working within the church as well as evangelizing in general market venues. We are thrilled to be in a ministry partnership with such an extremely talented and focused band.'

Produced by Grammy-winning duo John and Dino Elefante along with Tim Bushong (Channelsurfers, Bride), Proof Positive is merely an extension of Cross Culture's already substantial music career. In the last four years alone, Cross Culture has taken more than seven 'Battle of the Band' titles in its home state of Ohio and performed alongside artists including Plumb, Relient K, as well as T-Bone. Earlier this year, the band released its first music video, 'Swing,' which has already been embraced by national viewing audiences.

'We're excited to see the culmination of our efforts realized in the general public,' says Cross Culture frontman Justin David. 'Our hope is that many walks of life and a broad range of ages will find something to relate to in our music. We hope that our experiences can be an exciting soundtrack to young lives especially.'

Cross Culture's first radio single, 'Extraordinary,' released to both the Christian Hit Radio and Rock radio formats last month. Also look for Cross Culture on a national tour this spring.
