PHILADELPHIA, PA (WPSG-TV) - UPN 57 will broadcast the Philadelphia Mummers Fancy Brigade Finale in prime time on Sunday, January 1st from 8 to 10 p.m., UPN 57 President and General Manager Michael Colleran has announced.

Valerie Knight and Frank Lewis of sister station 98.1 WOGL's "Breakfast Club" will host the two-hour special featuring 11 Broadway-style performances of the most elaborate division of Philadelphia's annual New Year's Parade. The Fancy Brigades performances will have been taped in their entirety earlier that day in front of a live audience at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The Brigades also march on Broad Street with the other Mummer divisions.

"UPN 57 is always looking for local programming that is uniquely Philadelphia," Colleran says, "and the Mummers certainly fit that bill." The station recently launched a promotional campaign, "So Philly, So U," to promote both the station and the region.

UPN 57 (WPSG-TV) is owned and operated by the Viacom Television Stations Group that now consists of 40 stations, including CBS 3 in Philadelphia, 20 additional CBS stations, 16 UPN and three stations not affiliated with the major networks.
