BOSTON (Boston Globe) - David Bryan has known Jon Bon Jovi since theywere teen-agers. The keyboardist for Bon Jovi's band has released a mostly instrumental solo album, "Lunar Eclipse." It shows his love of "everything from Brahms to the Beatles - I wanted to encompass classical and rock and roll and synthesizers - and make a journey of it." Bryan, who studied classical music for 15 years, says, "The piano is a semi-dying art. And it's different from other instruments, because you can't sit down and pick it up. Few people who are untrained can do it, except for someone maybe sitting down to pick out a Beatles tune." After the Bon Jovi tour ends July 28, Bryan would like to play some dates with New Age piano gurus George Winston or Jim Brickman. But he's hardly looking to leave Bon Jovi's band. "We just finished a five-week run in Europe where the smallest show was for 50,000 people and the biggest was for 75,000. This is a good job. I recommend it."
