Toronto, ON (Paquin Entertainment) -Adam Solomon will be performing along with his multicultural group, Tikisa, at the LULA Lounge in celebration of the release of their new CD, Mti Wa Maisha (Tree of Life). Adam "The Professor" Solomon, a versatile and accomplished musician and composer, collaborated with a star-studded collective of pan-African guitarists on the African Guitar Summit CD project for CBC, which garnered them the 2005 Juno award for Best World Music Album. Last July, they also performed at the Live 8 concert in Barrie. Now Solomon conjures his own brand of magic as frontman of Tikisa.

LULA Lounge is hosting this event as part of their World Music Festival throughout May.

'This is the long-awaited release from one of Canada's premiere African guitarists/songwriters.Mti Wa Maisha (Tree of Life) is a delectable sampling of styles from the African continent.' - Patsy Stevens, Producer, CBC

'It is a joy to hear Adam Solomon return to the full band sound of Tikisa. Music fans across Canada have scuffed dance floors to the sound of Adam's guitar since the early days of the great Afronubians, and the music on this CD will have them jumping in the aisles again. While the roots of Adam's music run deep (no-one plays fiesta like the "Professor"), this tree has truly taken root in Canada and reflects its nurturing: from the Ethiopian restaurants Adam played when he first arrived in Toronto, through cross-country tours, to the massive audiences he has performed in front of with African Guitar Summit and others.' - Todd Fraracci, Producer, African Guitar Summit (CBC Records)

This special event kicks off at 8 p.m. with a screening of Jambo Kenya, an award-winning one-hour documentary by Lalita Krishna. Witness the breathtaking landscapes and unique people of Adam Solomon's native country as Canadian teens encounter the striking beauty of Kenya with their Maasai hosts. Enriched with Adam's soulful music, Jambo Kenya features a rendition of Jambo Bwana that you've never heard before! The film also contains music by Gemini Award winner Amin Bhatia. Writes Toronto Star's Kathy Muldoon in Starweek: 'In a primetime world filled with fake reality, Jambo Kenya is the real deal.'
