LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) - The Strokes were the big winners at the 2002 NME Carling Awards at the Planit Arches in London on Monday (Feb. 25).

The Strokes picked up awards for Best Band, Best Album����������������������������� (Is This It), and Best New Act to lead the 2002 winners' field. Other notable awards went to U2 (Best Live Act), Radiohead (Best Video for "Pyramid Song"), Aaliyah (Best R&B Act), Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott (Best Hip-Hop Act), Kylie Minogue (Best Pop Act), and Basement Jaxx (Best Dance Act) (for more on Basement Jaxx, go to Miss Truth).
