The Sleepy Jackson's New Single 'God Lead Your Soul' Debuts In The Top 30

Sydney, AU (EMI MUSIC AUSTRALIA) - Perth band The Sleepy Jackson have leapt into the National ARIA Singles Chart at No 25 with God Lead Your Soul, the first offering from the band's much anticipated second album Personality - One Was A Spider, One Was A Bird (released July 1st). Not only was the single this weeks highest debuting single on the ARIA Charts, it debuted at No 2 in their home state of WA and was also the band's highest charting single debut ever!

Songwriter and frontman Luke Steele is currently completing a lightning promotional visit of the UK and US where Personality will be released at the end of July. Aside from press interviews, photo shoots and acoustic radio sessions, Steele is hosting unique album listening events in both London and New York. The international buzz on this album is already gathering momentum with mentions in Q, Mojo and the highly influential NME.

Personality was recorded at Big Jesus Burger Studios in Sydney and was produced by Scott Horscroft and Luke Steele. Guests on the album include The Presets, Jim Moginie (Midnight Oil) and Davey Lane (You Am I) amongst others.

The Sleepy Jackson have already announced a series of Australian album launch shows in June (see below for details) before heading back to the UK and US in July. Further touring throughout Europe is also being locked down before returning home for a national tour.
