MIAMI, FL. (www.tereso.com) - Miami based rock band Tereso won the Miami Final of the Emergenza Festival on Sunday, June 4, 2006 at Churchill's Pub. The music filled night pitted eleven bands competing to advance to the Florida Finals in Tampa, FL. The winner was chosen based on crowd response as well as with a music industry related panel of judges. "We're very thrilled with this victory," says Marcelo "Chelo" Crocetti, guitarist and vocalist, "and happy to able to advance in such an important competition. Our goal is take our music as far as possible, and this is an important stepping stone." The upcoming Delanuca Records artists is set to perform a 20 minute set at The Janus Landing in Tampa on June 24 with hopes of qualifying to the Southeast Regional Final in Atlanta, Georgia. Winning band from Atlanta advances to Dallas, Texas for the National Final where the lucky winner competes for the World Final in Germany.

This achievement comes on the heels of the Miami New Times "Best Latin Rock Band 2006" accolade Tereso received three weeks ago. "We don't consider ourselves a Latin Rock Band just because half of our songs are in Spanish, but simply a rock band," states Juan Rozas, vocalist and guitar player. "But this award is important to us and with the Emergenza win we have this positive momentum to keep building on."

Fifteen years ago Emergenza was born in Europe from a group of passionate musicians in need of expression. In the past few years, Emergenza has become the most widespread, reliable and well-known musical event in respect of numbers, visibility, facilities, partnerships and contacts offered to bands. Actually Emergenza is the most prominent musical contest for up and coming bands as far as international dimensions and coordination are concerned.

With a loyal fan base and extremely energetic performances, the band comprised of Marcelo "Chelo" Crocetti (guitars, vocals), Juan Rozas (guitars, vocals), Alejo Rozas (bass), and Ricardo Mazzi (drums) is preparing for what could be a busy summer. Tereso is no stranger to big festivals and venues, having played The Cutting Edge Music Festival 2005 (New Orleans), Rock El Park 2005 (New York), and sharing the stage with national acts such as Volumen Cero in Los Angeles, they are geared up and ready to take on Tampa for the Florida Final. Road trip anyone?
