LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) - Tracks from Willie Nelson and Ryan Adams are among those that make up the Hollywood soundtrack to the forthcoming baseball film, "The Rookie." Nelson contributes his version of Beth Neilsen Chapman's "Nothing I Can Do About It Now" (from his 1989 Columbia album "Horse Called Music") and Adams adds "In My Time of Need" (from his 2000 Bloodshot solo debut album "Heartbreaker").

Steve Earle's new track "Some Dreams" is the set's first single. A video, directed by Trey Fanjoy (Lonestar) was shot last month in Nashville for the song, which was written for the film. Composer Carter Burwell ("O Brother, Where Art Thou?," "Fargo") also contributes two new pieces of score to the set -- "The Plains" and "The Spheres."

Other featured tracks include Duane Jarvis' "There is a Light," from his 1999 Watermelon release "Far From Perfect" and John Fogerty's "Blue Moon Nights," from his 1997 Warner Bros. set "Blue Moon Swamp." Also included is the Guy Clark's rendition of "Stuff That Works," a song he wrote with Rodney Crowell, who recorded it for his 1994 album "Let The Picture Paint Itself" (MCA). Clark's version comes from his 1995 set "Dublin Blues" (Elektra).

Previously released songs from Jefferson Airplane, Allison Moorer, John Hiatt, Paul Burch & WPA Ballclub, and Eileen Rose round out the collection, due Tuesday (March 26).

Based on a true story, "The Rookie" follows Jim Morris' unlikely journey from high school baseball coach to major league pitcher. Starring Dennis Quaid ("Traffic," "Any Given Sunday"), Rachel Griffiths ("Six Feet Under"), and Brian Cox ("Rushmore"), the film opens March 29 in U.S. theaters.
