PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (Dolly Parton Official WebSite) - Dolly Parton calls it "junk," but a new exhibit of stuff the country music star has accumulated over the years could be the biggest attraction yet at Dollywood. Welcome to Dolly's attic, the newest feature of a theme park that opened for its 17th season Friday. "I save everything," Parton said to the delight of hundreds of park visitors. "Everything that every fan gives me, everything that I collect everywhere. I just cannot throw it away." The collection has everything from exercise equipment and old magazines to posters, pictures, awards and clothes, clothes, clothes. There's even the medical bag of Dr. Robert F. Thomas, who came by horseback to deliver Dolly Rebecca Parton on Jan. 19, 1946. Dollywood, Tennessee's top tourist draw outside the neighboring Great Smoky Mountains National Park, calls the new "Chasing Rainbows" exhibit a "state-of-the-art, interactive attraction dedicated to Dolly's lifetime of dreaming." It's part of a $10 million addition to the park.
