LOS ANGELES CA. (Kikstart Records) - The debut CD, DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE from Kikstart Records' LIFE OF RILEY will be released on August 22 through Alliant/Koch Distribution.
LOR's repertoire showcases rock selections that run the gamut of heartfelt emotions. Their hard-rocking music evinces quality musicianship with their use of dual guitar leads and a solid rhythm section—think Switchfoot meets Chevelle. Cassidy Campbell's vocals are distinctive and project a sense of true passion and urgency. Life of Riley is anchored by brothers Cassidy and Brice Campbell on vocals and guitar. The quartet also includes life-long friend, guitarist Barry Ochsner, and rounding out LOR is drummer Joel Killingsworth.
Advancing DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE to Alternative radio is 'When We Were Young,' an anthem of love, loss, past choices, and how those choices lead to consequences that effect your life for many years afterward. Audiences are responding very positively to the song expressing how the song also speaks to their own life experiences. 'The road is where this band lives and breathes,' comments Cassidy Campbell. 'Whether we're in a club or a stadium, the passion for performing remains the same and the opportunity exists for us to communicate with our audience and share our lives with them.'
First to radio was LOR's 'Somewhere in Between,' a Yahoo! Launchcast choice on its Rock, Christian Rock, New Rock & Adult AC stations. LIFE OF RILEY's CD DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE is also part of Yahoo! Music's Ongoing 'Push' music recommendation system. AOL Radio's 'New Rock Now' has been playing 'Somewhere in Between' since early May, averaging 37 spins per week. Reaction has been strong, and now they have started featuring 'When We Were Young' and are increasing LIFE OF RILEY's visibility within the AOL Music System. Clear Channel Online Music & Radio Program has picked up 'When We Were Young' as a featured artist for the period June 6th to September 5th in their 'NEW', artist development series. The band's profile will be raised with the addition of LOR's video to the CC 'New Program' for the 4th quarter. MTVi just added 'When We Were Young' to their online Rock radio channel, and their new 'Urge' music initiative.
Produced by Cassidy and Brice Campbell and Skidd Mills at Seven47, Mills' Memphis studio, the trio had previously written and produced two Top 10 tracks for CCM artists through their Crazy Rain Productions.
The unit has toured extensively, performing to upwards of half a million fans and logging over 250,000 miles over the past few years. The band is currently playing throughout Texas and will expand their live dates to the Midwest on behalf of DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE.
Missouri-based Kikstart Records was founded in 2004 by music industry veteran Paul Andris (Bone Thugs & Harmony, Fox Television's 'Family Guy,' HBO's 'Spawn,' and the CG film, 'Final Fantasy').
