Bryan Ferry's Latest Includes Collaborations With Roxy Cohorts

NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - Roxy Music frontman Bryan Ferry has set a May 21 release date for his new studio album, Frantic, which will be released by Virgin Records in the U.S. Co-produced by Rhett Davies - who helmed Roxy Music's Avalon in 1982 and Ferry's 1999 solo outing As Time Goes By - and Colin Good, Frantic reunites Ferry with several Roxy alumni.

Ferry and fellow Roxy founder Brian Eno got together on the album's closing number, "I Thought," which the two co-wrote and on which Eno contributes keyboards and backing vocals, while original Roxy drummer Paul Thompson, who was part of last year's reunion tour, plays on three of Frantic's tracks. Two other members of Roxy's 2001 reunion tour band--violinist Lucy Wilkins and backing vocalist Sarah Brown--also appear on the album.

Frantic features 13 tracks, among them covers of two Bob Dylan songs, "Don't Think Twice (It's Alright)" and "It's All Over Now Baby Blue." Other covers include Leadbelly's "Goodnight Irene," on which Ferry is accompanied by traditional Cajun musicians; Don Nix's "Goin' Down"; and the medieval piece "Ja Hun Hons Pris." Soprano Mary Nelson adds vocals to the latter and also to "San Simeon."

Another guest on the album is Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, who plays on the track "Hiroshima."
Ferry has no tour plans for Frantic as yet.
