LOS ANGELES (Street Dogs Official Website/ Brass Tacks Records) - Having put the finishing touches on their third album, Fading American Dream, STREET DOGS are currently on the road with legendary
Orange County punk-rockers The Adolescents. The tour winds down in Tempe, AZ on August 20th. But there's no rest for these road-tested veterans, as the
Boston band gets back in the van again in mid-October as direct support to seminal punk rockers Bouncing Souls, an Old School style tour that will take them straight into the New Year.??
After two months in the studio with producer Ted Hutt (Flogging Molly, Bouncing Souls) the band, whose ranks include former members of Dropkick Murphys and Mighty Mighty Bosstones, is bringing a renewed fire and energy to their live show as they test out tracks from their latest effort.??
"Fading American Dream is a collection of 13 songs, 2 years in the making," STREET DOGS' vocalist Mike McColgan explains. "The record is full of blood, sweat, tears, raw emotion, frustration and joy. Our producer, Ted Hutt, pushed and challenged us to the peak of our abilities. The end result is a release reflecting all of the above as well as our collective influences, some past band experiences, and our live performances."?
The new album stays true to STREET DOGS' own particular brand of politically-charged punk rock, delivering sobering messages via music that is drunk on hooks. "The album and title track, Fading American Dream, is about common people, songs about youth and the predicament of being left behind and being brought up on a war culture" reflects McColgan, "songs that talk about the declining rights for workers, like "Common People" ? 'not without a purpose, not without a fight'" .?
Fading American Dream hits streets October 10th on the band's own imprint Brass Tacks Records (distributed through DRT Entertainment) and features guest appearances by James Fearnley (The Pogues) and Matt Hensley (Flogging Molly).
