Houston band, LIFE OF RILEY is enjoying increased activity on radio and online.
DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE's 'When We Were Young,' is at alternative radio now with over 30 stations having played the track. As Capone, PD of WHRL - Albany, NY put it, 'This band has mainstream sensibility, but shouldn't alienate the hipsters. And if you ARE a hipster, and you ARE alienated, then get over yourself and play the song. It's a smash.' Both 'When We Were Young' and 'Somewhere in Between' are being played on XM and Sirius Satellite Radio.
The band's online presence is being led by Clear Channel Online's 'New' artist development program with the band attaining the No 4 most played spot for 6 weeks in a row in Adult. LOR and DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE is being held over for the Clear Channel program for the entire 4th quarter in the Alternative format. 'When We Were Young' is being featured on Yahoo! Music's Launchcast online Rock and Adult Alternative radio channels, and has been featured on AOL's 'New Rock First.' The band and CD are also being featured online at MTV's 'URGE,' as a Yahoo Music 'Recommendation,' at MP3.com, at Live365.com and in September on Napster.
A video for 'When We Were Young' is currently in production with Director David Bellino, and will be completed and serviced to all outlets by the end of September.
LOR's rock repertoire runs the gamut of heartfelt emotions. Their hard-rocking music showcases quality musicianship with their use of dual guitar leads and a solid rhythm section. Cassidy Campbell's vocals are distinctive and project a sense of true passion and urgency. Life of Riley is anchored by brothers Cassidy and Brice Campbell on vocals and guitar. The quartet also includes life-long friend, guitarist Barry Ochsner, and rounding out LOR is drummer Joel Killingsworth.
The unit has toured extensively, performing to upwards of half a million fans and logging over 250,000 miles over the past few years. The band is currently playing throughout Texas and will expand their live dates to the Midwest on behalf of DAYS AWAY FROM LIFE. The band is playing a show for WHRL/Albany on September 24th.
Produced by Cassidy and Brice Campbell and Skidd Mills at Seven47, Mills' Memphis studio, the trio had previously written and produced two Top 10 tracks for CCM artists through their Crazy Rain Productions. Kikstart Records was founded in 2005 by music industry veteran Paul Andris and is distributed through Alliant/Koch Distribution.
