LOS ANGELES (Recording Academy) - WHO: Honoree Ricky Martin, GRAMMY winner Miguel Bosé, current Latin GRAMMY nominees Calle 13, La Mari de Chambao, reggaeton superstar Don Omar, GRAMMY and four-time Latin GRAMMY winner Juan Luis Guerra, rapper, actor and GRAMMY winner Ludacris, Ednita Nazario, and reggaeton artist Julio Voltio. Gabriel Abaroa, President of The Latin Recording Academy,and Neil Portnow, of The Recording Academy, also will be in attendance. Special invited guests include Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, with a special performance by Ricky Martin. The executive producer of the event is 12-time GRAMMY winner Phil Ramone.

WHAT: The 2006 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year tribute event will honor Ricky Martin for his accomplishments as a world-renowned entertainer, consummate performer and passionate humanitarian. He will receive the honor at a special star-studded tribute dinner and concert. A portion of the proceeds from this special evening will benefit Ricky Martin's charitable efforts.The 2006 Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year tribute dinner is one of the most prestigious events during Latin GRAMMY Week and is attended by numerous Latin GRAMMY nominees, celebrities and music industry VIPs. The event will precede the 7th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards, which will be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Thursday, Nov. 2, and will be broadcast on the Univision Network from 8 - 11 p.m. (ET/PT)
