Sydney, AU. (Lisa Maxwell Official Website) -- Remember the name Lisa Maxwell: the Australian indie rock singer/songwriter/musician (not to be confused with the British actress or Australian vocalist who released a string of records in the 90s of the same name) is reaching a global audience, with sales of her music recorded in Australia, Europe, the UK and USA.

That audience looks as though it is set to grow rapidly in the not-too-distant future, with the recent announcement that popular indie music podcast The Bleeding Edge (thebleedingedge.tz4.com), produced by Melbourne podcasters Cracked Media, will be aired to listeners across the USA plus 87 other countries on the USA's biggest all-girl Affiliate Radio Station NTGR fms new channel, Women Rock Radio.

The Bleeding Edge features Lisas instrumental track Harmonic Rock, taken from her debut album Select Vacancy, as its official theme music, as well as a bunch of tracks from her debut long-player including title track and current single Select Vacancy and forthcoming single Anna.

Following the positive response to her song Say What I Mean on 2003's Bent Incubator compilation, Lisa Maxwell and producer Jamie Durrant (Killing Heidi, Degenerates, Incursion) recorded a bunch of raw, guitar-based tracks that displayed a keen pop-rock sensibility, which would become her 2005 debut EP Bad Day. The EP produced the Rage (ABC-TV) and Rage On Demand viewer favourite Harmonic Rock, with its video inspired by the Japanese horror film Ring. Tracks from the EP received national airplay in Australia and a favourable response and airplay in the UK, Japan, USA, and Canada, as did follow-up single Never Coming Back Here Again.

Her debut album Select Vacancy, a darker, heavier effort than Bad Day, has received rave reviews, with comments such as a superbly damaged musical soundscape... Maxwell rocks out in the old-fashioned sense - walls of guitars playing host to a disturbingly powerful set of lungs, and the title track, Select Vacancy has her smoky voice that is older than her years singing and the pumping riff of the guitar and drums. And the catch line, dont say I will, still ringing in my brain for days after hearing it, what a hook! from Australian media.

Hear for yourself: we recommend playing this one loud. Turn it up!
(Select Vacancy is in stores now through Essential Music Australia / Green Media Distribution and available worldwide through Apple iTunes. See www.lisamaxwell.net)
