Toronto, ON (Cyclone Records) -- Canadian metal/hardcore band Inner Surge's 2004 album "Matrika" has been re-issued by Cyclone Records through online retailers and is now available on Napster and Sony Connect. Rated in the Top 10 of 2004 by Punkcanada.net and a 10/10 by Space Junkies Magazine, the album was well received by music critics.
Along with re-releasing "Matrika", heavy promotion of the 2006 Cyclone Records release "Signals Screaming" has been paying off. Two of its tracks hit the Podsafe network's top 10 in September while being played on over 60 podcasts for the month in total. One of the tracks, "Retribution Song" has been gaining popularity partially due to its video release on websites such as Google Video, myspace.com and youtube.com. The video and song is also part of the upcoming extreme sport DVD "Divided Aggression" being released by Phat Mountain Films later this year. "Signals Screaming" is also getting airplay at various radio and internet radio stations such as Hard Beyond Driven, WGPR, iRadio LA, CFBX (Kamloops), CJSF (Vancouver) and Insomnia Radio. Recent interviews and features with Inner Surge can be found at Metalinsanity.com, Sportscritics.com, cIndycenter.com, and Sockpuppetsfromhell.com.
Inner Surge has also been chosen for inclusion on the upcoming Convergence Party Recordings benefit compilation called "DISMANTLE THE MACHINERY: Songs of Audio Annihilation." Convergence Party Recordings is the Philippines first self-managed, worker owned and maintained volunteer run label/project. The proceeds go out to the Autonomous Media organization in Metro Manila to sustain its initiatives and work in organizing. A fraction of the number of copies produced will also be donated to various collectives to raise funds for the grassroots revolution. A notable cause to mention is the Free Sagada 11 Campaign which needs urgent financial backup, and the ever thriving "Food not Bombs" activities in the Phillipines.
Other artists included on the compilation include the Brat Attack, Resistenza, The Martyr Index, Dying Process, Fuck the Facts and the Renegades of Punk. For release dates and additional info please visit undergroundnetwork.blogsome.com.
Inner Surge has also been confirmed for the soundtrack for Macabro Films feature length psychological thriller, "Amok!" Included will be "AzurA" and "The Outcome" from their latest CD, "Signals Screaming" and possibly a third track to be determined. Further details will be announced shortly.
Talks are also in the works with Free Zen Productions (freezen.ca) to begin production on a music video for the upcoming single "Wolves".
