SANTA MONICA, CA. (Interscope/ Geffen/ A&M) - In what will be the first AOL
Music Session of its kind, multi-platinum recording artists
The Game and
Travis Barker are joining forces for a unique recording event that will air December 1st on AOL
Music (https://www.aolmusic.com).
Single-handedly (literally, as sole instrumentalist performing with one arm in a sling due to a recent fracture) Travis Barker will provide a musical backdrop for The Game, as the two southern California natives reinterpret selections from The Game's sophomore album, "Doctor's Advocate," which was released on November 14th and debuted at No 1 on the Billboard chart, having sold 358,278 copies. Barker's newest venture, the band (+44), also had an album drop the same day. "When Your Heart Stops Beating" bowed at No 10 on the Billboard chart.
Barker broke his right arm while shooting (+44)'s first music video, but the injury has not slowed him down. The band, which also includes Barker's former Blink-182 bandmate Mark Hoppus, Craig Fairbaugh of The Transplants and Shane Gallagher of The Nervous Return, is now in the middle of a nationwide tour.
In addition to The Game's chart success, his new line of Hurricane sneakers in stores, and his performance for MTV's $2 Bill Concert which aired over the Thanksgiving holiday, the man who calls himself the face of Los Angeles is now preparing to trek across Europe. He will touch down on December 4th in Manchester (U.K.) and hit some of the continent's largest cities and music halls throughout the month.
A preview of this amazing AOL performance is available at https://comptongame.com/AOL before it's December 1st premiere on AOL. Ins addition, the audio recording from this special performance will be available exclusively on iTunes on December 28th. The fusion of Mr. Barker and The Game, two of music's biggest personalities and brightest talents, will make for an AOL Music first that offers something for both rock and rap fans alike.
