LOS ANGELES (KILLERS OFFICIAL WEBSITE) - The Killers set December tv dates in support of RIAA platinum SAM'S TOWN album:
* "VH1 Big in '06 Awards" (Saturday, December 2nd)
* Billboard Music Awards (Monday, December 4th)
* The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (Monday, December 18th)

Looking ahead to the yuletide season, Island Records group The Killers have recorded "A Great Big Sled," their first Christmas single – and along with Apple iTunes Music Store are donating 100% of the proceeds from sales of the song to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. On December 1st, AOL will premier the song exclusively on aolmusic.com, while the video for "A Great Big Sled" will premier on Yahoo Music on 12/7.

"I want to roll around like a kid in the snow.
I want to re-learn what I already know.
And I want to take flight, dress in red, through the night on a great big sled.
I want to wish you merry Christmas..."

"A Great Big Sled," a collaboration with veteran UK popster Toni Halliday (of goth/dance duo Curve), was recorded by the Killers in London with their venerable British producer Alan Moulder. The new album Sam's Town, was released October 3rd and certified RIAA platinum earlier this month, features the No 1 Alternative/Modern Rock radio hit single and video, "When You Were Young" and "Bones" (first video directed by Tim Burton).

(RED), founded by U2's Bono and Bobby Shriver (CEO of RED), is an economic initiative designed to deliver a sustainable flow of private sector money to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. It is the first time that the world's leading companies (Gap, Apple, Motorola, Converse, Armani and American Express) have made a commitment to channel a portion of profits from sales of specially-designed products to the Global Fund to support AIDS programs in Africa with a focus on women and children.

On December 1st, The Killers will join other high-profile guests and celebrities at Emporio Armani stores to encourage consumers to buy Product RED (including "A Great Big Sled"), and save lives." Giorgio Armani has collaborated with Ghanaian contemporary artist Owusu-Ankomah to create a capsule collection of products that range from a jacket, sweatshirt and jeans to several accessories that will be available in all 124 Emporio Armani stores throughout the world.

Upcoming in December is a busy schedule of tv appearances – starting with the first annual "VH1 Big in '06 Awards" December 2nd and "The Billboard Music Awards" in their hometown of Las Vegas on the 4th ; and finally two weeks later (December 18th), their return to NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. The dates come on the heels of their victory this month at the annual MTV European Music Awards in Copenhagen, where The Killers were voted Best Rock Band of the year, beating out Evanescence, Keane, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and the Strokes.
