Fan Fair attracts record crowds

NASHVILLE (AP) - The move of Fan Fair, the premier country music festival, to downtown Nashville resulted in record crowds, according to the Country Music Association. Attendance for last weekend's event totaled more than 124,000, the CMA announced Monday. "The record attendance evidences that we've turned things around," said Ed Benson, CMA executive director. "We've heard nothing but great comments from the artists, who were all so very pleased with the new, world-class facilities." Fan Fair moved this year from the Tennessee State Fairgrounds to downtown Nashville. Last year at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds, attendance slipped to just over 20,000, or about 80,000 for a week.
