NEW YORK (Billboard) - Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel never released a concert album during their heyday, but the pair are now overseeing a live set, tentatively titled "Live From New York City", which is due early next year on Columbia/Legacy. The tracklist is not yet finalized, but the shows are likely to be drawn from 1967 concerts at New York's Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall.

"We put the tapes up and everybody in the room went slack-jawed because the performance is so awesome", producer Bob Irwin said. The shows came shortly after the release of the duo's third album, "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme", which featured the No. 1 hit "Scarborough Fair", as well as "Dangling Conversation", "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her" and "Homeward Bound." The duo split in 1971 but regrouped for a landmark free concert in New York's Central Park in September 1981, which Warner Bros. released as "The Concert In Central Park".
