LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Director Kirk Wong has come aboard to develop and direct the Artisan Entertainment adaptation of Marvel's martial-arts-themed comic book "Iron Fist." Artisan is eyeing a late 2001 or early 2002 start on the project, which is set to star Ray Park, best known for his starring turn as Darth Maul in "Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace." "Iron Fist" centers on Danny Rand, who was raised in a secret temple in the Far East. As an adult, he returns to the United States to seek revenge on his parents' murderer with the help of his powerful fist, which has the force of iron. Screenwriter John Turman penned the adaptation.
