Madison, WI. (Top40 Charts/ Dane Varese Band Website) - The Dane Varese Band makes its mark on the independent music scene with a debut CD, three music award nominations, and the selection of "Madison" to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the city of Madison, Wisconsin.
Performing acoustic pop rock with a flavor of jazz and blues, The Dane Varese Band is destined to stardom. Relatively new to the music scene, DVB has already gained the attention and kudos of its peers. The band was nominated for three Madison Area Music Awards: Pop Artist of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and People's Choice for Entertainer of the Year. The recognition and honors keep coming. The band's song "Madison" was chosen by the City Council of Madison to commemorate the city's 150th anniversary. "Madison," with its distinct, rollicking blues flavor, is one of thirteen fabulous tracks on "No Regrets," the DVB debut CD. "No Regrets" is available at both iTunes and CD Baby (www.cdbaby.com).
DVB is comprised of Dane Varese on vocals and guitar; John Sprangers, lead/rhythm guitar, backing vocals, and keyboards; Pete Reschenberg, bass and harmonica; and Luis Santana, drums/percussion. The band is preparing to launch a nationwide tour and plans to hit various cities across the United States and Canada. Powered by the unique vocal stylings of band leader Dane Varese, DVB has already attracted the attention of promoters and reviewers. Jamison, the agent for the club Annex, shares that "The Dane Varese Band puts on the show of a major label act without the attitude." John Wirth, a Canadian music reviewer, states, "Dane has the sound of Jason Mraz, the delivery of Rob Thomas, and the soul of James Taylor."
Born to a musical family, Dane began seriously playing music at 16, though he first displayed his vocal talents at the tender age of five. Members of a show band, Dane's parents played corporate parties. Becoming bored with the standard fare, five members of the band learned a few country western songs and took a local "battle of the bands" by storm. Fans clamored to book the band "Cowboy Smalls," which name referred to five-year-old singer Dane. His appetite for music whetted, Dane played bass and sang at his first-grade dance as the only first-grader among a band of fourth graders. Dane's love for music continued to flourish at the encouragement of his parents and grew into what has now become The Dane Varese Band. The band reflects its talents and versatility on "No Regrets," with sounds ranging from blues to jazz to rock. Sample the flavor of this incredibly talented band at www.myspace.com/danevarese.
