Haw River, NC (Top40 Charts/ Suma Records/ Redeye Records) - Suma Records is proud to announce the release Marc Black's 'Stroke of Genius' CD, May 29, 2007. It is distributed by Redeye Records. https://www.redeyeusa.com/newreleases/2007-05-29/

It is rare that musicians of this stature come together on a single record. Steve Gadd, Warren Bernhardt, Art Garfunkel, The Dixie Hummingbirds, John Sebastian and Apollo Sunshine, among others have combined their immeasurable talents to make an extraordinary CD, about an extraordinary journey.

It all comes together on Stroke of Genius, the musical brain child of singer/songwriter, Marc Black. Marc travels through the mind of a man who has seen the "other side" and has come back...with more gratitude and appreciation for life than he had ever dreamed possible.

Stroke of Genius reveals Marc as a guitar player with a powerful style. His trancing, groove oriented, story telling is unique and seemingly effortless. And his arrangements and vocals bring the music to life.

Although 'Stroke of Genius' is just now being released, it's already been noted on a Billboard Magazine 'heat seekers' chart for sales on the internet. Marc will be touring, performing songs off the CD and at times showing the 50 minute documentary film by Bahman Soltani that's been made about this beautiful twist of fate. The National Stroke Association is a supporter of this project. www.stroke.org

Marc Black's past collaborations have included projects with Richie Havens, Garth Hudson, Rick Danko, Jack DeJonnette and PDQ Bach. In addition to being a songwriter and guitarist, his company Black Market Music has won the Mobius for Best Original Music in Advertising.

"Right from the first track, Marc's emotion-filled vocals, complemented by the crystalline singing of Art Garfunkel, embark on a melodic exploration that takes the listener on an odyssey, shimmering with humor and light," Phil Demetrion.

Denise Taylor of the Boston Globe West writes, "Most of the CD's I get are just a collection of songs. This truly is an album. And I love it."

"A calm passion resonates throughout the record, wrought with a sincere humanity. Black carves something beautiful and human out of life's rawest emotions." J.D. GOLDSMITH, Pulse

"One song, Rewired, is a techno/Frank Zappa style translation of the experiences of someone who has just returned from space. Marc Black is a musical adventurer, stretching effortlessly between techno-funk jams and classic Americana." JAY SPICCA, Chronogram

"This is a beautiful record, nice work, really. The story is so powerful, Gorgeous sounding." LOUISE COOGAN, National record promoter, adult rock radio.
