LONDON, UK (Morcheeba Official Website) - Morcheeba have secured a five-album deal with their new record company EastWest. They have also added a date to the end of their UK tour, at London's Brixton Academy on November 22. The trio's new album Charango was released earlier this month, after two years in the making. Band member Ross says the new deal is a far cry from their days as struggling artists. "You turn up at the record company offices and they start offering you these ridiculous deals which are so bad - but they know you're unemployed and desperate to work," he said. "In the end we were lucky as we were offered a good deal which allowed us to maintain and develop our individual creativity. The record company also helped to build our studio at Paul's home which has been a great asset to us. We have always been pretty pro-active ourselves when it comes to our career and reinvested the money we've made into making the studio better as we think it will pay off in the long term." Tickets for Morcheeba's UK tour are available, which begins in Aberdeen on September 17.
