New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Anthill Trading) - It is with great enthusiasm that Anthill Trading welcomes The
Hives (www.thehivesbroadcastingservice.com) to their roster. Formed in 1993 in while they were still in their teens, The
Hives had already conquered their native Sweden when they took
America by storm with their second studio album Veni Vidi Vicious (2000). The album featured the hit singles "Hate to Say I Told You So" and "
Main Offender", which garnered both popular and critical accolades, while their razor sharp look distinguished them from other garage revival bands of the time.
"The Hives dish out power-punk that will knock your ass around your hips and blow the gel out of your hair," said Pitchfork Media.
With a sound indebted to late-era classic hard rock, highlighted by vocalist Howlin' Pelle Almqvist's voracious and steady scream, The Hives toured relentlessly, broadening their fan base in both America and Europe. Rolling Stone aptly described their live performance as being "as tight as their groupies' pleather miniskirts."
Now, on the verge of releasing their fourth studio record "The Black and White Album" (October 9 release in the U.S. and a day earlier in the UK), The Hives look to cement themselves as stalwarts of the garage rock revival. "Tick Tick Boom", the lead single has already jumped to number 1 on a number of specialty charts, and is available for download in the U.S.
Fresh off the European summer festival circuit, The Hives will embark on their North American tour starting in September, teaming up with power pop megastars Maroon 5 on 28 dates, while adding a number of headlining shows of their own along the road. For a full list of cities and dates you can visit the bands' MySpace page at www.myspace.com/thehives.
Anthill Trading will not only develop The Hives tour merchandising needs but will also oversee all aspects of licensing and retail. Anthill is eagerly anticipating this opportunity to help create a product that is true to the signature aesthetic of this fantastic band.
