COACHELLA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Spotlight 29 Casino) - There are rock concerts, and there is a dream classic rock concert come true. That is exactly what music fans are in for when Blood Sweat &
Tears and The Guess Who rock Spotlight 29 Casino on February 2.
Since 1968, Blood Sweat & Tears has been thrilling audiences, dazzling airwaves and leaving an unmistakable mark on the American music scene. Widely considered one of the greatest horn bands in the history of pop music by critics and fans alike, Blood Sweat & Tears started out in Greenwich Village and quickly reached stardom.
The band became a worldwide sensation, achieving many global musical firsts, including being the first band to tour behind the Iron Curtain, first to have three hit singles from the same record and the first to truly combine rock with jazz. Blood Sweat & Tears has sold millions of albums and earned several Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
The Guess Who also burst onto the music scene in 1968 with the band's million-selling single "These Eyes." In fact, the band would go on to have more than 20 singles released between 1969 and 1976 that were million sellers, including "Laughing" and "American Woman."
The single "American Woman" is a landmark recording in the music industry, as both the original and the cover (by Lenny Kravitz) topped the charts. With the song, The Guess Who joined an elite group of performers that includes Elvis Presley, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones who have scored a double-sided number one. The flip side was "No Sugar Tonight."
The Guess Who recently completed a six-song concert DVD "The Guess Who: Shakin' In Las Vegas" that is available at The Guess Who concert and on the band's website.
