NY (AP) - The Edge nightclub in downtown DC held its third annual Bottle Rocket on Saturday June 30th to celebrate our nations birthday. The party came complete with an outside tent, BBQ pit and a dunk your favorite local DJ booth. The Edge didnt fail this year to bring an array of music from DJs. To my surprise, Drum and Bass took control in the main room all night long. Look out partygoers, the underdog of the underground is making its way to the forefront. Trance, House, Hip-Hop, and Breaks were also pumpin throughout the club, including South Floridas three-time DMC Champ DJ Craze. Due to a delayed flight, Craze arrived 2 hours after his time slot and the anxious crowds parted and screams echoed through the tent. He dropped some old school hip-hop and ended with his funky scratch blend that reinvented songs before your ears. Before the crowd knew he had finished, Craze stopped the last record and said whoever wants to hear me spin jungle, go to the main room in 5 minutes. Craze took over the main room and closed it with a performance that was nothing less than spectacular. After dancing all night, I found myself behind the DJ booth looking on as this musical genius. I first met Craze at a party in Miami over Christmas last year. He was hanging in front of the ladies bathroom, I guess checkin out the crowd? People walked by and seemed not to notice him but those that did eagerly sought his attention. This party was no different. Crowds gathered during his set, hovering over his tables intensely watching his every move. His set ended and Craze was nice enough to answer a few questions for this inquisitive jungle fan.
