SAN DIEGO, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Viejas Entertainment & Production) - Viejas Entertainment and Production, owners and operators of the San Diego area's premiere concert venues, have partnered with the Alpine Union School District to help support music education in its elementary and middle schools by donating proceeds from each Concerts in the Park ticket sold.

In its ninth season, Viejas Concerts in the Park has recently announced its 2008 concert season lineup, with 22 concert dates April through October, and more to come. The intimate venue located at the Viejas Outlet Center can accommodate up to 2,500 ticketholders per show.

'We are absolutely thrilled and feel blessed to have Viejas approach us and offer to donate a percentage of their sales to our music programs,' said Alpine Union School District Superintendent Greg Ryan. 'In a year of tremendous budget cuts, their generosity could not have come at a better time. This donation is going to help begin, grow and strengthen our music education programs and with their assistance we look forward to continuing these fundamental programs.'

The Alpine Union School District has one kindergarten facility, three elementary schools and one middle school, accommodating roughly 2,150 students. Currently there is one music teacher for the three elementary schools and one music teacher at the middle school teaching the elective class.

'Education is important to the Viejas Tribe, and with their rich tradition of giving back to the community, our partnership with the Alpine School District was a natural fit,' said Tony San Pietro, Viejas Entertainment and Production President. 'I know first hand that without music education in schools many students are missing out on a fundamental part of learning. Viejas is proud to be able to help instill the passion of music in younger generations and keep the dream of becoming a musician alive.'

$1 from each concert ticket sold will be directed to specific music programs in Alpine elementary and middle schools. The donation is expected to range from $60,000 - $90,000 and will go toward much needed resources such as instruments, lighting, software and advanced programs at the local schools.
