New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Amy Macdonald's first single "Mr. Rock Roll" is by far the most-added new single this week on AAA radio in the U.S., landing her in great company with such established artists as Coldplay
and Emmylou Harris
at the format. And if her double-platinum UK success is any indication, we will be hearing a lot more from this 20-year-old Glaswegian rocker in the coming months. Amy debuts stateside this summer with 'This is the Life,' an album that dethroned Radiohead's 'In Rainbows' of its No 1 reign on the UK charts, and is applauded by British press:
•"Blessed with a clear, powerful voice and a confidence way beyond her years, there's no limit to what she might achieve." (UK Independent)
•"Bristling with urgency and intent, debut albums don't come much better than this." (The Daily Mail)
•"A genuine representation of the feisty, vulnerable loveliness of Scottish womanhood." (Evening Standard)
•"Amy Macdonald's folky sound is a breath of fresh air. I love her new album, and the hit single 'Mr. Rock 'N Roll' is truly brilliant." (London Lite)
'This is the Life' is out in the U.S. on August 19th on Decca.
