LONDON, UK (Daily Mirror) - S Club singer Jo O'Meara is taking the rest of the year off on the advice of her doctors.
The singer's been diagnosed with a hereditary condition that could cause damage to her spinal cord. O'Meara's mom also suffers from the condition.

A spokesperson for S Club told UK newspaper The Daily Mirror that O'Meara has been told by a number of specialists that if she undergoes a back operation, she could end up in a wheelchair.
Unfortunately, the same outcome could result if she doesn't go through with an operation.

O'Meara is determined to be part of the group's tour next year and says she "can't wait to get back up there" after her doctor-ordered rest is complete.
