LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Musicians Institute) - On July 31, Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT) at Musicians Institute (MI) (www.mi.edu) in Hollywood is hosting an exclusive afternoon clinic by virtuoso and singer/songwriter Joe Bonamassa (www.jbonamassa.com).

Named "Best Blues Guitarist" by Guitar Player Magazine's Readers in both 2007 and 2008, the 31-year old Utica, New York-raised musician and artist-a longtime committed supporter of music and guitar education-is internationally renowned for his fluid phrasing and post-modern fusion of electric British blues, traditional Delta Blues and rock and roll chops.

Guitar One Magazine once stated that Joe "just might be the best guitarist of his generation." Guitarist Magazine calls him "the New King of the Blues." Gibson.com echoes, "Right now, there's no better blues-rock artist than Bonamassa." Billboard has dubbed him "a bold talent," while Mike Joyce of the Washington Post made note of the "wicked guitar thrills" he offers.

Bonamassa is currently gearing up for the highly anticipated August release of Live From Nowhere, his fifth recording on his own J&R Adventures label and eighth overall.

Currently, Bonamassa actively serves as the youngest-ever member of the Memphis, TN-based Blues Foundation's Board of Directors, and is the lead spokesperson for their highly respected Blues In The Schools program, which educates students nationwide about the legacy and influence of the blues.

Since opening its doors in 1977, Musicians Institute has primed over 20,000 musicians, producers, engineers, vocalists and industry professionals for successful careers in every genre of contemporary music. Located just blocks from the Capitol Records tower, MI has an incredible history of innovation dating back to its origins in 1977 as the Guitar Institute of Technology (GIT), which broke new ground as a performance-based contemporary music school taught by working professionals. Within a few years, GIT was joined by bass and drum programs to form Musicians Institute and the evolution has continued to this day with degree and certificate programs for career-minded guitarists, bassists, drummers, vocalists, keyboardists, recording engineers, independent producers, guitar makers, music business professionals and filmmakers.
