New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - Brandi Shearer, a gifted singer, songwriter and guitarist in possession of what the LA Weekly raved is 'a heaven-sent, heart-shuddering vocal style that makes her sound worldly and seasoned well beyond her young years,' will join Tim Finn on his US tour, opening a string of upcoming West Coast dates. The four California shows, kicking off
September 10 in San Diego, will be presented by Amoeba Music.
Shearer is currently in the studio with Grammy-winning producer Craig Street (Norah Jones, k.d. lang, Meshell Ndegeocello), working on the follow up to 2006's 'Close To Dark.' She'll use the upcoming shows to help flesh out some of the songs lined up for the new album.
You can check out interviews with Brandi as she records the new album at https://www.brandishearer.com
'Close To Dark' standout 'Lullabies' will also be featured in the season premier of Showtime's hit show Dexter on September 28 at 9pm ET/PT.
Finn has enjoyed a varied and remarkable career, from his days as founder of legendary 70's/80's art-pop group Split Enz to his time in Crowded House with brother (and former Split Enz band mate) Neil, as well as an outstanding solo career, an eclectic album project (ALT) and two Finn Brothers albums.
As an exciting part of presenting the California leg of the Tim Finn tour, fans will also have exclusive access to an 8-song release called 'Rarities/Demos/Live Performances Vol. 1' via https://www.amoeba.com as well as in the Amoeba stores. Finn's upcoming full length album 'The Conversation' will come out in October on EMI Australia (2009 U.S. release date TBD).
Amoeba Music continues its commitment to presenting live music, following successful tours in early 2008 featuring Shearer and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals as well as Shearer with Kate Walsh and Quincy Coleman.
