NEW YORK (Marketing & Bussiness magazine) - The numbers are in and multi-platinum recording artist Faith Hill logged a record setting six million streams and AOL's "Artist of the Month" campaign proved to be its most successful in history. This news comes on the heels of Hill's nomination as Favorite Female Artist by The People's Choice Awards and the highest network ratings for any music special broadcast during Thanksgiving week. "Cry" has already been certified double platinum selling 230,112 units last week, which is a 155% jump in sales. The album also re-entered the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart at #7 and sits at #3 on the Billboard Country Album Chart. The successful AOL "Artist of the Month" campaign, which included an intimate Sessions@AOL interview and exclusive full album Listening Party, resulted in more than 4 million streams pre-release and propelled online pre- orders of her CD. "Cry" retained a Top 5 spot on the AOL CDNOW charts for three weeks leading up to its in-store release. The album, specially enhanced with "Faith Hill TV," received thousands of visitors who checked out special feature installments of the making of "Cry," as well as footage filmed while Faith selected album cover art, taped her recently released music video and the taping of her NBC Thanksgiving Night Special. Fans were able to get a behind the scenes look at how Faith works, unrehearsed and unscripted.
Hill performed this past weekend for the taping of the upcoming CBS Special, "Home For The Holidays" and quickly flew to Las Vegas to perform "Cry" for the "Billboard Music Awards." "The 29th Annual People's Choice Awards," airs live on CBS on Sunday, January 12th at 9:00 PM ET.
