Ryan Adams & the Cardinals and leading social music discovery service iLike announced that Cardinology, the band's highly-anticipated and critically acclaimed collection of all new studio material for the Lost Highway label, will stream in its entirety for 48 hours exclusively on iLike beginning today (October 22), which is a week before the album's release (on October 28).
Ryan Adams & the Cardinals will also personally introduce Cardinology to their fans via original video content that iLike will syndicate to iLike.com, Facebook and other leading social networks and online platforms beginning on the album's release date. A few hand-selected iLike users who are fans of Ryan Adams & the Cardinals will also have a chance to gain entrance to a surprise event in New York City on October 28. More details will be announced in a special iLike bulletin on October 27, the night before Cardinology's release.
This is Adams' first album in more than a year, which is unusual for the prolific artist. Like its predecessor Easy Tiger, which Time Magazine hailed as 'a career breakthrough,' Cardinology is a concise and focused collection of twelve unadorned tracks. In a four-star review of Cardinology, Rolling Stone Magazine calls the album 'a near-classic' and goes on to say, 'Drunk on melody, high on musical history, but all his own, the record throbs with great playing and singing, and thrums with hope without pimping easy platitudes. It's one of the best things he's ever done.'
