Nashville (News) - After expressing disappointment for the lack of radio attention on his latest album, Southern Rain, Billy Ray Cyrus said publicly that the album he is working on now with producer Blake Chancey for Monument Records may be his last. Since that statement, Cyrus's fans have been heating up the Internet with chatter about the fact that Cyrus may be giving up music altogether to focus full-time on his acting career.

Those rumors about his future in music provoked the singer to respond to fans online at his official website. "Rumors are just that rumors," said Cyrus. "Tell [the fans] to come out and enjoy the rest of the tour and not worry about next year."

This winter, Cyrus will return to Canada to film another season of the popular PAX TV series, Doc. Whether or not he will tour next year has yet to be determined.
As for the album Cyrus is now working on, it is expected to be complete by spring or summer of next year.
