New York, NY. (Top40 Charts/ GBH) - The UK's Damian Lazarus recently switched residences, trading up London's gray skies for the sunny climes of Los Angeles. But that doesn't mean Damian's gone all sunshine and Hollywood on us. No, the veteran purveyor of twisted late-night techno and genre-crossing house has been freaking dancefloors across North America on his second-annual Devils Night tour. On Thursday, November 20th, Damian brings his demented beats to New York for a free event (with RSVP) for GBH and it's weekly Hiro Ballroom shindig. A nightlife denizen to the fullest degree, Damian mixes a dastardly sense of humor with terrific cutting-edge tunes and dancefloor-moving DJing sensibility. As a the head honcho behind the esteemed Crosstown Rebels label, Damian has overseen the rise of one of today's most watched labels, an imprint that's helped launched numerous new talents into the burgeoning minimal and techno scenes. Crosstown Rebels has featured everything from the Latin-flavored romps of Pier Bucci to the dark techno of Konrad Black, with Damian's wide-ranging musical sensibility at the labels' core. This is the second year that Damian has embarked on his Devils Night tour, and for the New York installment, he'll be playing the cavernous confines of the Hiro Ballroom. Hosted by NYC's GBH crew, this is a free event, with a Budweiser open bar kicking off at 10pm. Basic NYC's Sleepy & Boo warm up the decks for Damian, with Giovanni and Karraskilla from the Biatch Corp. team closing the party down. For a behind-the-scenes look at Damian's devils night exploits, fans can check out his running tour diary at Beatportal.com. We're sure he'll have some interesting entries following his Big Apple visit.
