LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Luck Media & Marketing) - Celebrating the holiday season in Reno, where his hit show 'Greg London's Icons' is extended at Harrah's Reno through 2010, the master musical impressionist (www.gregorylondon.com) is hearing those sleigh bells 'ringalinging' all the way up the charts!
The singer's exquisitely arranged, intimate rendition of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' was recently No 2 most added track on two major airplay charts: the FMQB AC40 chart and Radio & Records' Adult Contemporary (AC) airplay chart.
On the FMQB AC40 chart, London's entry, which jumped to No 46 this week, is just behind a new seasonal song by superstar instrumental artist Mannheim Steamroller and ahead of cuts by Faith Hill, Beyonce, The Fray, Carrie Underwood and Arnold McCuller, the famed session singer who also contributes backing vocals to London's track.
On the R&R AC Most Added Chart, 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas' is just behind a new holiday track by Barry Manilow, tied with Faith Hill and just ahead of tracks by Kimberley Locke, Rascal Flatts, Jim Brickman, Carrie Underwood and Elvis Presley with Martina McBride.
London's version of the song, which was recently included in a compilation created by Daybreak Entertainment that is sent out to all major market morning shows, was produced by veteran film composer Eric Colvin and also features saxophone star Warren Hill and vocalist Kate Markowitz.
London joins an elite group of legendary and contemporary pop stars who have recorded memorable renditions of 'Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,' which was introduced by Judy Garland in the 1944 film 'Meet Me In St. Louis.' Among those who have covered it are Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Garth Brooks, Toni Braxton, Barbra Streisand, Christina Aguilera, Coldplay, Alan Jackson, Martina McBride and Mel Torme.
'Greg London's Icons' is now one of the longest running shows ever in Sammy's Showroom at Harrah's Reno.
