LONDON, UK (Radio 1) - Australian band The Vines is dominating the run-up to this year's NME Awards with six nominations, followed by Coldplay with five and Oasis with four.
But Ms Dynamite and The Streets, who dominated the nominations for this year's Brit Awards, got just one and two nominations respectively. Almost all of the awards are chosen by readers of the magazine.

The 13 February ceremony will also see Coldplay, Radiohead and Oasis battle for the prize of best UK band.
They will be up against Mercury nominee The Coral, as well as The Libertines and The Cooper Temple Clause for the big prize at the 13 February ceremony.

The nominees for best international band sees some familiar names as well as some newcomers, with The Strokes and The White Stripes up against Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Hives and The Datsuns.

Coldplay and Oasis are also up against each other for best LP and best single.

The best solo artist features Mike Skinner (The Streets), Pink, Avril Lavigne, Ryan Adams, Eminem and Ms Dynamite.
And in a section of more light-hearted categories, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Oasis singer Liam Gallagher will compete for the sexiest man hero of the year.
